Welcome

We invite you to explore the creative collaborations produced by a cohort of 14 undergraduate and graduate students from across Canada.

The WhereWeStand project paired Indigenous and newcomer participants together to produce creative works that deconstructed Canada’s colonial past and reimagined their relationship with the Land and its people. The project fostered rare collaborations, bringing together individuals living in very different communities, sometimes even different time zones, to produce a shared narrative.

Their works, which could be expressed in any form of their choosing – including dance, spoken word, film and material art  – provides a unique window into expressions of identity and belonging.

Follow the links to meet our artists, see their creative collaborations and sample the experience of their live performances.
